About Rotaract

What is it?

Rotaract is a global network and a humanitarian organization for young professionals and students aged 18-35. Rotaract was founded in 1968 by Rotary International, a worldwide organisation of business leaders and professionals wanting to make a difference in society.

There are 10,698 active Rotaract Clubs in 180 countries, with a total of 203,000 members globally.

Joining a Rotaract club means attending biweekly club meetings, learning about a variety of relevant topics from guest speakers and working on volunteer projects hands-on.

You also get the opportunity to attend events and roundtrips all over the globe, participate in mentorship programs, leadership trainings, international conventions, and meet like-minded people everywhere you go.

About Rotaract Oslo International

Founded in June 2023

Rotaract Oslo International is the first English speaking club in Norway for young professionals and students aged 18-35.

We meet every other Tuesday in central Oslo and the agenda varies based on our club's three core pillars: Networking, Learning and Volunteering.

This includes:

  • Guest speakers

  • Networking events

  • Social evenings/after works

  • Volunteering project workshops

  • Professional development workshops

  • Cultural visits

  • Company visits

Although we speak multiple languages in our club, the official language is English and all of our events will be organized in English in order to accommodate members and guests who do not speak the local language yet.

Why become a member?

As an official member, you will benefit from:

  • Biweekly meetings/events with inspirational speakers at Deichman Library in Bjørvika.

  • Many social events initiated by other Rotaractors.

  • As an active member, you can not only attend our meetings, but also those of other Rotaract and Rotary clubs. This allows you to network locally, internationally, and across age groups, helping you to grow and develop. There are over 10k Rotaract Clubs around the world today!

  • You can participate in projects, and improve your leadership skills.

  • You can attend international Rotaract events, which take place several times a year.

  • You can join our official Rotaract Couch Surf group, that allows you to safely connect with other Rotaractors all around the world when traveling.

  • You will have access to special programmes such as the ICC exchanges, where Rotary clubs sponsor a trip to another country, with individual mentoring and a personalized agenda based on your interests.

  • Finally, you can help shape the direction of our club by voting on club issues or even serving on the club's board.

How do I join?

To become a member you have to attend three club meetings as a guest and show active interest in the club. After three meetings, you will be eligible to fill in an application to become a Rotaract Oslo International member. The board will then review and vote on your application. When your application is accepted you will get your Rotaract pin and be officially welcomed into the club with a small ceremony.
