The Rotaract year is coming to an end and Rotaract Oslo International is going on a summer break. Our first year as a club is officially a wrap, and we are so happy to be able to look back at everything we've achieved together this year - it's a lot more than we planned and expected! Here's a short summary:
Got our first 16 official members and had a pin ceremony
Completed two social projects: a fundraiser for Water Survival Box and a beach cleaning
Hosted a number of competent and inspiring guest speakers on the following topics: Youth Leadership & Civic Engagement, Technology for a Greener Future, Psychology: The Baby in a Glass Cage and Norwegian Politics & Norway in relation to the EU
Had a Norwegian delegation attending Nordact in Copenhagen, REM in Stockholm, REM in Sofia and EUCO in Bucharest
Did a company visit at Freia Chocolate Factory in Oslo
Hosted a Lithuanian Rotaract delegation in Oslo through the ICC Rotary Program, where we visited the Lithuanian Embassy and attended the district conference together
Organized an International Ski Weekend in Kvitfjell with visitors from Rotaract Luxembourg, Switzerland, Belgium and Iceland
Were guest speakers at the District 2310 RYLA conference and the 2310 District Conference
Hosted a Rotary Youth Exchange alumni gathering
...and met so many amazing people along the way!
Thank you to everyone who's been a part of this journey and helped us get to where we are today. A special thanks to Torhild Hallre, 2310 District Governor, for the incredible support we've received from the very beginning and still do to this day.
We wish everyone a lovely summer holiday and look forward to seeing you at our regular club meetings that will start again in August 2024. Best, Maria Waldekrantz Co-founder & President Rotaract Oslo International Julian Frei Co-Founder & Vice President Rotaract Oslo International
