Rotaract Oslo International and Rotaract Altona Hamburg Are Officially Twin Clubs.

We are proud to share some exciting news with all our members: Rotaract Oslo International (RACOI) is now officially twinned with Rotaract Altona Hamburg!
The twinning was formalised during the Rotaract Euro Meeting (REM) in Karlsruhe, held from 10 to 13 September 2026. In front of Rotaractors from across Europe, representatives of both clubs signed and exchanged the official twinning certificates, marking the start of a long-term partnership between our two clubs, and between Norway and Germany.
What does twinning mean?
In Rotary, twin clubs (also called sister clubs) are two clubs from different countries that commit to a lasting relationship. The aim is to promote international understanding and goodwill, to learn about each other's culture, and to work together on service projects that make a difference in our communities. It is not a one-time event, but a friendship that grows through regular contact, shared ideas, visits and joint activities.
For RACOI, an international club by nature, this partnership is a natural step. It gives our members a direct link to a club abroad and opens new opportunities for friendship, learning and service beyond our own borders.
Our first exchange: a box full of culture
We didn't wait long to bring the twinning to life. As a first gesture, both clubs prepared an exchange box filled with typical items from their home country. Our friends in Hamburg received a taste of Norway, and we received a box of German favourites in return. The contents will be shared with all members during our upcoming club meetings, so all of our members can take part in this first exchange.
What comes next
This is only the beginning. Together with Rotaract Altona Hamburg, we look forward to:
Staying in regular contact and sharing news between our clubs.
Organising joint online meetings and, in time, visits to Oslo and Hamburg.
Exploring a joint service project that both clubs can support.
Learning from each other's ideas on club life, events and member engagement.
We would like to thank Rotaract Altona Hamburg for their enthusiasm and warm welcome, and everyone who helped make this partnership possible.
If you have ideas for activities with our twin club, or would like to be involved in planning the next steps, please contact the board. We hope to see you at our next meeting October 20th to open the box together!
